Tough men are bred in hard times,
Weak men are made in easy times.
Learning from a loss,

We don’t have to like it.
We just have to accept it.

Complacency is the enemy.
To be the best, one must continue to grow.
When you reach the peak, aim for the next one.
When you reach number 1, set a new higher goal.
Strive for 1% better every day.

What could you try for the first time?
Chasing our dreams. It is far easier to think of the destination, then plan out the long journey it will take to get us there.
This is what I need to improve on. I am a dreamer, but lack diligence and motivation.
So this is my pledge. To pursue brilliance by taking just one step at a time.
This is my journey to be a published writing. Starting simply, one blog. One story. One poem. Each day just putting in baby steps.
One day that snowball effect will take charge, it won’t be today. It won’t be tomorrow. But maybe one day it will happen, and that day will be very sweet indeed!
I am my own worst enemy. Every time I sit down to write or contemplate doing some work, I get distracted. I start watching TV, I scroll on twitter , or I decide to go out. I am constantly getting frustrated at my self for failing to stick to a simple task or goal.
I never expected this to be easy, but I really didn’t think it was going to be this hard. This has been the trend of my writing for over 2 years. I would start something and show a lot of promise (well I thought so), and then give up and get distracted. I give up way to easy, if something just starts to feel hard or I have a better alternate.
I am truly the result of the digital age, a generation that is unable to focus for an extended period of time.
I have to learn to take baby steps, I have to become slowly more and more motivated. Every time I work for five minutes more after being distracted I build upon my will power.
It seems rather Ironic doesn’t it, I have to take baby steps (more like crawl) foward. I feel the more I write, the more I read, the better I will become.
So please, please wish me luck.
The young die before their time.
The old wrinkle with age,
Watching unable to help.

War, famine, greed.
Man makes the inevitable
All the more unbearable

We look atbackwards,
At decisions not made.
A life lived in regret.

When paths present opportunity,
We hesitate to act.
Only with ourselves to blame.

Life is a cruel mistress
If we live in the shadows of others
Shed the burden of others expectations
And flourish as our own selves
A sickness deep inside me,
Undiagnosed and festering,
Bubbling to the surface,
A self-imposed purgatory,
Where I have no control.

My mind is absent,
My motivation away on leave,
Feeling a shell of my past self,
With only self-pity left for tonic.

The seasons past me in a flash,
The falling leaves rotting my soul.
Once friends now memories,
Fading with my last hope
.
I grow tired of imperfection,
When each day marks new opportunity.
I may fall foul of this poison,
But at least I will try to escape
