Beyond the Dashboard | Poem

In the garage where memories reside,
A faithful steed, well worn with pride.
Through miles and moments, we’ve traveled far,
It’s time, my dear, to bid adieu, my sweet old car.

Your metal heart with its rhythmic beat,
Down winding roads and quiet streets.
You carried dreams and laughter ever sweet,
A vessel of memories, oh so fleet.

Across sunrise drives to sunset hues,
Through storms and traffic we’d never lose.
More than steel and tire,
My companion in joy and desire.

From first dates to never ending road trips gone long,
Singing our hearts out in song.
More than a machine,
You witnesses my life’s vast unfolding scenes.

The engine’s hum, a sweet lullaby,
Chasing horizons under the sky.
Through breakdowns, fixes, and repair,
These are testaments to our journeys we share.

But now, my friend, the time has come,
To part ways, our adventures now done.
The odometer reads a tale complete,
A journey etched in memories sweet.

In your leather seats, stories are embed,
Of places visited and tears much shed.
As the engine cools, my heart now sighs,
For it’s hard to bid the past goodbye.

Farewell, old friend, with gratitude and grace,
For every mile and every fond embrace.
You were more than a mode of transport,
A relic of moments, love, and support.

In the rearview mirror, reflections gleam,
A montage of memories, like a dream.
As you drive away to a different star,
Thank you, dear car, for being my old car.
