Purple Pride | Poem

In the city’s hustle, where shadows creep,
Pride, a serpent, begins to seep.
A vice so potent, it blinds the eyes,
As vanity in purple robes envies.

Purple, a hue of regal might,
Wrapped around ego, oh so tight.
In the palace of self, a throne it builds,
Pride, the silent poison that oft kills.

A king of his making, a ruler unseen,
In the mirror of ego, his flaws unseen.
Purple garments, a mask to wear,
A facade of grandeur, a deceit laid bare.

Yet, in the heart’s chamber, truth resides,
Where arrogance in purple confides.
A reckoning awaits, a fall to find,
For pride, the subtlest of sins, binds.

Cast off the robes of arrogance’s dye,
Let humility in, let the spirit fly.
For in the soul’s mirror, clear and wide,
True strength transcends the purple tide.
