  • Absorbing a Loss #cliche

    October 29th, 2023

Tough men are bred in hard times,

Weak men are made in easy times.

    Learning from a loss,

    Makes strong men.

We don’t have to like it.

We just have to accept it.

    .

    Complacency is the enemy.

To be the best, one must continue to grow.

When you reach the peak, aim for the next one.

When you reach number 1, set a new higher goal.

Strive for 1% better every day.

    .

I started from the bottom and now I am here (still the bottom)

  • The Grind | Poem

    October 28th, 2023

    Ten thousand hours are foretold,

The perfection point a sight to behold.

When at once a skill can be sold,

And at last once can relax with their gold.

    .

It feels so out of reach,

When I’d rather just lie on the beach.

Long sick of hearing to the speech.

I just want to taste the sweet peech.

    .

    So get on the grind,

    Who knows what you’ll find.

Our dreams are clear, but the journey is blind.

All it takes is taking each step in time.

    October 27th, 2023

Trapped within a grey walled hellscape,

I feel a man reduced, more of an ape.

My eyes locked to the clock,

Watching as if I’m a hawk.

Fully prepared to make my escape.

    Snowcapped peaks rise high,

    the precipice of Heaven

    Rainbows paint the path.

  • Raindrops | Limerick

    October 25th, 2023

Raindrops keep falling on my head,

Should be curled up inside instead.

    Who needs a shower,

    When this superpower,

Cleans me all up in the end.

    October 24th, 2023

    Windswept trees bellow,
    Flowers escape the meadow,
    Nature takes cover.

  • Shadow | Poem

    October 23rd, 2023

A stalker in the day yet absent at night.

A black being shaded from light.

    Greets me at the door,

    Ready to explore.

    .

A being born in the recess of darkness,

Glued to my feet, as if a carcass.

    We travel as peers,

    Brothers bonded by fears.

    .

    The night brings reprieve,

    A time aside to grieve.

    For daybreak brings light,

    And with it darkness’s delight.

  • Running | Poem

    October 22nd, 2023

    Feet pound on pavement,

    Sweat builds on brow’s

    Mental resilience is tested,

All for the sake of a few pounds.

    .

    The rush of addrenaline,

    Of a post runner’s high.

    Fuels planning for tommorow,

    As our dreams sail high.

    .

    Daybreak is dark and stormy,

Whilst our beds are worm and cozy.

Where it’s easier to ignore our alarms,

Then find motivation to test ourselves once more!

  • A Man’s Castle | Poem

    October 21st, 2023

    Monday to Friday a slave,

Nine to give a corporate drone,

Piles of bills like cascading wave.

All a man’s got left is his home.

    .

A lull life of grey hue,

    Long days and monotonous queues.

    A means to an end,

    With a garden to tend.

    .

    Long days reach their climax,

    With once more vibrant colours

When one can ignore a fax,

And sit down to his supper.

    .

    Home sweet home,

A man sits on his throne,

    Weary to the bone,

With A smile pastered to his dome

When at last he is home!

  • Cocoa River | Haiku

    October 20th, 2023

    Curved cocoa river,
    Nature’s gentle, winding flow,
    Weeping Earth’s embrace.
