  • Tapestry of Hype | Cultural Limerick

    October 9th, 2023

Really proud of this piece – capturing a lot of ‘Nerd Culture’

Ripe is the tapestry of hype.

    Millennials dream as they swipe.

    The latest game,

    Is new to blame,

    As miseries latest archetype.

  • RIP to the American Dream | Humbling Limerick

    October 8th, 2023

Long ago a dream was sold,

When the strength of the US was impressive to behold.

    Hence Freedom and Liberty,

Now traded for greed and negatavity.

    Our American dream has unrolled!

  • Football | Limerick Poem

    October 7th, 2023

    A thriving unrivalled passion,

    90 minutes of non-stop action.

    Eyes peeled to screens,

    Grouped helplessly like sardines.

    Defining a lifetime of satisfaction.

  • Blind | Limerick Poetry

    October 6th, 2023

I sit in darkness, a man blind.

The world around me has not been kind.

    Depressed and lost.

    My heart covered in frost.

My only hope, to rejoin the grind.

  • Debbie the Downer | Short Story with a twist

    October 6th, 2023

This is Debbie. Debbie is a Downer. Down about her life. Life that isn’t much fun right now. Now is a bad time for Debbie, but it was once.

Once upon a time Debbie lived a life of bliss. Bliss and bubbly, Debbie felt complete. Complete in the sense that she was fulfilled. Fulfilled both emotionally and physically. Physically she was a specimen, strong and sure. Surely this life would last forever?

Forever never lasts. Lasting tales of woe and worry always come back to haunt. Haunting us into our futures. Futures whose direction is yet unknown. Unknown to her yet, Debbie has hope still.

Still, Debbie sits in her home. Home is where the heart is after all, or it was, before the end times. Time has stood still for Debbie for a while. Whilst at her bottom, she is not lost completely.

Completely alone, Debbie thinks back to the family now lost. Lost to time, only kept in memories. Memory is the key after all.

All Debbie has to do is get up. Up towards the stars she must push. Pushing herself out of this rut and into the future!

  • Dancing Penguin | Limerick Poetry

    October 5th, 2023

A penguin who danced on the ice,

    Who should’ve thought twice.

You see, the worlds got hot,

    And melt its brought,

Who’d thought it would be their demise?

  • Why do we fall? | Philosophical Blog

    October 5th, 2023

In the grand tapestry of human existence, falling is not a flaw or a failure, but a fundamental aspect of our journey.

It is through our falls that we grow, learn, and find meaning in our lives.

Falling is a reminder that the pursuit of greatness, knowledge, and self-discovery often comes with setbacks and challenges.

So, as we navigate the ups and downs of life, let us remember that falling is not a question of “why” but an opportunity to ask, “What can we become through our falls?”

Put simply we fall so that we can learn how to pick ourselves up again. I have recently felt like I have been falling a lot. This has been difficult to deal with, but in retrospect it must all be part of the greater journey of my life!

  • The Devil in Disguise

    October 4th, 2023

I am my own worst enemy. Every time I sit down to write or contemplate doing some work, I get distracted. I start watching TV, I scroll on twitter , or I decide to go out. I am constantly getting frustrated at my self for failing to stick to a simple task or goal.

I never expected this to be easy, but I really didn’t think it was going to be this hard. This has been the trend of my writing for over 2 years. I would start something and show a lot of promise (well I thought so), and then give up and get distracted. I give up way to easy, if something just starts to feel hard or I have a better alternate.

I am truly the result of the digital age, a generation that is unable to focus for an extended period of time.

I have to learn to take baby steps, I have to become slowly more and more motivated. Every time I work for five minutes more after being distracted I build upon my will power.

It seems rather Ironic doesn’t it, I have to take baby steps (more like crawl) foward. I feel the more I write, the more I read, the better I will become.
So please, please wish me luck.

  • Mushroom the Cat | Limerick Poetry

    October 4th, 2023

    I miss Mushroom the cat,

    She was glorious and fat.

    A bit of a tart,

    She captured our hearts.

But now she’s dead on the mat!

  • Singing | Skill Searching

    October 4th, 2023

What skill would you like to learn?

One skill I cannot help but admire is the ability to sing. It’s the way that a song can capture feelings and emotion that captivate me.

I love being able to shape and tell a story – I feel being able to sing would be another way to expressive myself.

Unfortunately my talent in the area is more likely to make one’s ears bleed, than inspire them.

I wonder if it’s time I take my singing journey outside of the shower and into the world? Really kick start it if you know what I mean!

Otherwise I am quite content with my daily writing for now – a journey which is really helping me mentally. Hopefully you too have found some meaning in my prose!
