  • Bargaining | Poem

    October 3rd, 2023

    Like goods at the market,

    my emotions are for barter.

    Seeking an escape,

    Anything to avoid future grief.

    .

    Athiests turned to prayer,

    Extraverts seeking society.

    Personalities and beliefs,

    traded for emotional sanctuary.

    .

This is the cost of grief,

    an overwhelming emotional toll.

That is better switched off at the source,

then dealt with in the morrow.

  • Anger | Poem

    October 2nd, 2023

    The Red mist takes control,

Brow furrowed, Veins popping, Cascading Sweat.

A man completely fouled by emotion,

    Seeking anyone to blame.

    .

    This isn’t fair,

    The mask worn,

    Once denial was torn.

    Limitless resentment.

    .

    Linger in the darkness,

    Fuelled by your hatred.

    Ignore rational thought,

And give in to your blame.

  • Denial | Poem

    October 1st, 2023

    Absent minded I watch,

    numbed to any sound.

    Keeping emotions locked awar,

    fearful for their looming escape.

    .

    This was not my destiny,

A life meant for purpose and discovery,

    Now lost and empty.

    A shell now forgotten.

    .

    Denying is my choice,

    A human instinct to protect.

    Time heals all,

only if you let it in.

  • Traffic | Poem

    September 30th, 2023

    Bumper to Bumper,

    Testing my patience.

    The collective churn of society,

Attempt to flee (flea also works) at once.

    .

    Some fidget, others fester.

The worst of humanity Is bubbling collectively to the surface.

    Seeking one’s own sanctuary.

Patience is but a virtue – here we fester.

    .

    Once home, the Battle renews.

    Internet servers are throttled,

    As demand for streams awaken.

    One queue traded for another.

    .

Mankind reduced to a waiting game,

    Stuck behind one another.

All fulfilling the same ill replete role.

    What more can life give?

  • The Grand Final | Limerick Poetry

    September 29th, 2023

It all comes down to this,

To define an off-season full of bliss.

    It’s not always pretty,

but we have to score fifty.

    We better not bloody miss!

  • Four Seasons | Limerick Poetry

    September 28th, 2023

    The fall of the seasons,

    Are absent from reason,

    At one we freeze,

    To burning degrees,

    Perplexed avoiding feeling beaten.

  • Water | 2 min Poem

    September 27th, 2023

    Crystal clear and serene,

    Flat, transparent and perfectly blue

Impossible to tell where the reflection ends and the water begins,

    The entry to Heaven.

    .

    The Essence of life,

    The Habitat to many,

    The Centre of society,

Water brings us all together – for better of worse.

    .

    Falling leaves breaks the surface,

Ripples sent to all four corners,

There is a disturbance in the force,

I have a bad feeling about this.

    .

    The wind picks up dramatically.

    Ripples are spread .

    Death and destruction,

    Water brings all things.

  • 5PM | a very relatable poem

    September 26th, 2023

    The final countdown.

    Characterless Office cubicles,

Grey carpet lit by illuminated fluorescents

    All eyes on the clock.

    .

    Motivation is lacking,

Attention lost. Care thrown out the door.

Our entire mindset captured by the gentle tick.

    Savages reduced to cogs.

    .

Five is met. The silence is broken.

    We rise together in unison.

    Smiles etched to faces.

    Colour warms our cheeks.

    .

Our lives begin with the chimes.

    Scattering to all four corners.

    To loved ones, to sanctuary.

    To all in between.

    .

    Life not spent living,

    Is life wasted.

    Break the system.

    Rage against the machine.

  • Best Advice – self judgment

    September 25th, 2023

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

“The only person you need to answer to is yourself.”

I love this idea. We spend so long living in self doubt on how others would judge us that we never even try.

Try that new idea. Try that new look. Try to follow our dreams…

Well enough is enough! I say rise up, find what makes you whole and commit to it without question.

    Let’s start our journeys together!

  • Thirst | Poem

    September 25th, 2023

    Mouth open wide,

    Skin tied taught,

    Salt caked lips,

    Parched beyong belief.

    .

    The body craves water,

    The essence of life,

    Driving all decisions,

    Disabling independent thought.

    .

    Finite resource,

    Ever expanding Population

    Heating up our planet

God forbid we ever run out

    .

    Once we taste the nector,

We can take a breath again,

    As time slows down,

    And blood flow returns.

Time to prepare the trap (thirst trap)
