  • The Carpenter’s Ode | Poem

    November 15th, 2023

In the quiet dawn foundations take their stand,
Ground embraced in a mortar mix as life’s blueprint is planned.
Birth echoes in each cornerstone’s embrace,
A home begins and a life takes its first grace.

Walls ascend like childhood’s lively hum,
Rooms expanding, like a newborn’s kingdom come.
The first floor, a cradle of joyous mirth,
A dance of dreams and a celebration of birth.

Upon the second floor, beams intertwine,
An echo of maturity of life’s design.
    Adulthood’s corridors and spaces unfold,
    Responsibilities woven in timbers bold.

Weathered timbers on the third floor stand,
A testament to time like an elder’s hand.
Memories etched in grains as in stories of old,
Wisdom’s sanctuary is where the heart takes hold.

The rooftop view is the canvas of the sky,
Where dreams ascend and mortal lives untie.
A realm beyond, where mysteries unfurl,
The afterlife, the beyond, life’s final swirl.

In each nail’s tap and each beam’s caress,
A life’s tale woven deep in this address.
From foundation to rooftop, this journey is profound,
A poem of construction, where life is bound.

  • Undercover : Covert Consciousness | Poem

    November 14th, 2023

In the corridors of the mind I play a covert game,
The spy within me whispers thoughts by name.
In shadows unseen I seek for thoughts undercover,
By clandestine dance, I find a mind to discover.

    Unwelcome thoughts,
    Intruders to the quiet.
    They stealthily weave,
    Within the labyrinth of whispers,
    Trying to deceive.

    In the recesses they hide,
    Undercover agents inside.
A mental espionage of a battle untold,
Within the secret chambers of thoughts unfold.

Amid the covert chaos there’s a truth to find,
This self-aware spy in the theatre of the mind.
    I must unravel the secrets,
    Breakdwon the ruse,
    And see what consciousness strews.

  • Sky High Sardines | Poem

    November 13th, 2023

Within the sky a modern tale unfolds,
Where a soaring bus’s silver wings enfold.
No tracks to bind, no roads to restrain,
A commuter train in the celestial domain.

From horse to cart marks this journey’s evolution,
The engine’s now roar in relentless revolution.
Now a skyward leap, ours wings unfurled,
A journey through clouds into this brave new world.

Packed in like sardines, in a metal tube we soar,
Above the earth’s embrace to destinations galore.
A dance of clouds, a symphony of flight,
A new industrial era takes its height.

From steam to jet, the progression is clear,
    To new frontiers we steer.
    Time is redefined,
As a new era we find.

So let us fly on this commuter’s winged steed,
A modern odyssey fueled by speed.
In the sky we commute, our journeys sublime,
A testament to progress, in mans progressive march through time.

  • Radiant Solar Monarchy | Poem

    November 12th, 2023

In the vast expanse where galaxies unfold,

Lives a radiant monarch, resplendent and bold.

The sun, a sovereign in the cosmic dance,

Bestows its light in a life-enchanting trance.

    .

Burning ember in the tapestry of night,

    Igniting stars with celestial delight.

With golden fingers it paints the dawn,

A symphony of hues and the promise drawn.

    .

    In daylight’s realm shadows retreat,

The sun unveils the world in hues so sweet.

Its warmth acts a balm on Earth’s receptive skin,

This is life’s tender dance, hiding a melody within.

    .

Yet, heed the whispers in the twilight’s hush,

For with reliance comes a fragile trust.

In solar winds and cycles spun,

We find our destiny linked to the sun.

    .

In solar storms and fiery flares,

A cosmic waltz, each partner declares.

Our beacon, our anchor, our fiery guide,

The sun, our ally, forever beside.

  • Anzac’s Dawn: A Limerick Tribute

    November 11th, 2023

In the dawn’s early light, we recall,

Anzac’s standing so brave, one and all.

    Their courage and might,

In the midst of the fight,

In our hearts, their memory won’t fall.

  • A Single Step | Poem

    November 10th, 2023

The world is shrouded by uncertainty’s veil,

The path forward concealed, obscured by doubt’s dark gale,

I stand uncertain and lost, completely alone,

The flames of hope unlit, I face the great unknown.

    .

Yet in the heart of chaos and despair,

A flicker kindles in the air,

A voice from within urges me to take that leap,

Through life’s tempestuous sea, I slowly creep.

    .

In life’s foreboding road, I make my tread,

Through trials and tribulations that have spread,

The tiny ember sparks hope within my chest,

    I’ll heed this test.

    ,

Courage is born from each uncertain stride,

In the midst of this storm I will not hide,

Life’s tumultuous sea, I’ll boldly wade,

In taking just one step my path is made!

  • Sydney’s Untapped Beauty | Haiku

    November 9th, 2023

    Sydney’s beauty hides,

    Untapped gems in city’s heart,

    Nature and man’s art.

  • The Echoes of Man | Poem

    November 8th, 2023

The beginning marked by a spark of divine grace,

In the canvas of cosmos, life found its place.

    .

Emerald forests burst and sapphire rivers flow,

A world full of wonder to grow.

Creatures in harmony born to the land they call home,

With nature’s embrace, together they roam.

    .

Alas, mankind arrived with dreams and desire,

With knowledge and fire, reaching ever higher.

In their pursuit of progress, they stole and they took,

From earth’s fragile balance man relentlessly shook.

    .

    A world marred by scars,

    the once-vibrant now grey,

    Life’s beauty tars,

    Man’s choices lead the way.

    In the name of progress,

We sought to build and create,

But in our quest for power,

    We sealed our fate.

    .

All that remains is to reflect on what was once so bright,

A world forever changed, by man and their might.

  • Mental Poison | Poem

    November 7th, 2023

In my dark chamber, restless, I reside,

Self-doubt like a serpent, coils and hisses,

Its venomous thoughts, I cannot escape,

Within my mind, this deadly venom kisses.

    .

My thoughts are like tainted rivers,

They carry burdens of despair and sorrow,

A poison coursing through my soul,

I fear there’s no escape from this morose tomorrow.

    .

With quill in hand I pour my soul upon the page,

I lay bare the toxins that within me churn,

I seek to break this mental cage,

Perhaps, some solace I may discern.

  • Doppelganger’s Descent | Short Story

    November 6th, 2023

In the quiet, dimly lit room, John had always felt a lurking presence, like unseen eyes tracing his every move. The gnawing feeling of being watched crept up his spine, making him glance nervously over his shoulder, time and time again. But there was nothing there, just empty spaces and shadows dancing on the walls. His heart raced, and his palms grew clammy as the sense of unease weighed upon him, like a boulder on his chest.

As days turned into weeks, the oppressive sensation only deepened, wrapping around him like a shroud. John couldn’t sleep, couldn’t escape the feeling that something sinister was lurking in the corners of his life. His reflection in the mirror became a source of dread. His own eyes, once familiar and comforting, now harbored a glint of malevolence.

One fateful evening, as John stared into the mirror, he noticed a change. The man in the reflection grinned, but it wasn’t his smile. It was twisted, dark, and full of malice. The shadow in the mirror moved independently, and John realized with a chill that it was not him. It was a grotesque doppelganger, his evil twin.

“Let me in,” the shadow whispered, a chilling echo in John’s mind. “I can set you free. You know you want to.”

A debate raged inside John’s head as he confronted the wicked entity in the mirror. He was consumed by fear and the torment of his own thoughts. His resolve crumbled, and in a moment of weakness, he whispered, “I let you in.”

The room grew darker as the malevolent shadow detached from the mirror, materializing as a separate entity. It surged toward John like an inky specter, and he could do nothing to stop it. Panic surged through his veins as he tried to flee, but the shadow moved faster, boxing him in with its chilling presence. John’s futile struggles were like a trapped insect, desperately flinging itself against a glass jar. The walls seemed to close in, and no matter how hard he screamed, no one heard him.

In the end, his voice was silenced, and his vision shrouded in darkness. The roles had been reversed, and John was trapped within his own mind, while the sinister shadow now roamed free.

As the days turned into months, John’s behavior became increasingly erratic. He was diagnosed with a split personality disorder, his mind poisoned by the malevolent entity he had unwittingly unleashed. The shadow’s influence was insidious, tearing at his sanity, as the feeling of being trapped and defenseless consumed his every thought. The battle within had left scars that may never heal, and John’s life had become a living nightmare, watching on helplessly as his evil self took them down an unforgivable path.
